An actual e-mail that we received from the Groton youth soccer coordinator:
Due to the fact that the H1N1 flu has reached epidemic proportions, with schools (e.g.Grafton) not too far away closing down, the NVYSL has asked that all teams play it safe and suspend all post-game handshakes for the balance of the season. Instead, they have suggested that a forearm bump or a simple "thank you, good game" verbal communication be shared between the players instead.
