"When I Have Kids..."

Remember this game? You rambled on about what a cool and unrestrictive parent you'd be when you were a "grown up", while your parents just smiled and said something clever like, "why don't we just see how you feel in about 30 years". (As if you'd ever be that old). Owen shared some of his parenting ideas with me yesterday; here they are:

When he has kids, he will let them eat snacks all day long, yet they will never have to go to the grocery store. (When I asked him where the snacks would come from, he told me his wife would go out and buy them. I'm sorry, my feminist friends).

When he has kids, he will call them down for dinner and when they arrive he'll tell them "surprise, you're only having dessert!"

When he has kids, he will sign them up for t-ball, soccer and karate school. (No doubt the grandparents will be financing these activities).

And of course, when he has kids, he'll let them stay up all night and sleep all day. (At what age do we start looking forward to going to bed? It's pretty much the highlight of my day. Wow, that sounded pathetic).
